Straight seam welded pipe: simple production process, high production efficiency, low cost and rapid development.
Spiral welded pipe: the strength is generally higher than that of straight seam welded pipe, and a narrower billet can be used to produce welded pipes with larger pipe diameters, and welded pipes with different diameters can also be produced with the same width of blank. However, compared with the straight seam pipe of the same length, the weld length is increased by 30~100%, and the production speed is lower. Therefore, most of the smaller diameter welded pipes use straight seam welding, and the large-diameter welded pipes mostly use spiral welding.

According to the use, it is divided into general welded pipe, galvanized welded pipe, oxygen blowing welded pipe, wire casing, metric welded pipe, idler pipe, deep well pump pipe, automotive pipe, transformer pipe, electric welded thin-walled pipe, electric welded special-shaped pipe and spiral welded pipe.
General welded pipe: General welded pipe is used to transport low-pressure fluid. Made of Q195A, Q215A, Q235A steel. It can also be manufactured from other mild steels that are easy to weld. Steel pipe to carry out water pressure, bending, flattening and other experiments, there are certain requirements for surface quality, usually the delivery length is 4-10m, often require fixed length (or double ruler) delivery. The specifications of the welded pipe are expressed with a nominal caliber (millimeters or inches) The nominal caliber is different from the actual one, the welded pipe has two kinds of ordinary steel pipe and thickened steel pipe according to the specified wall thickness, and the steel pipe is divided into two kinds of threaded and unthreaded according to the form of the pipe end.
Galvanized steel pipe: In order to improve the corrosion resistance of steel pipe, the general steel pipe (black pipe) is galvanized. Galvanized steel pipe is divided into hot-dip galvanized and electric steel zinc, hot-dip galvanized galvanized layer is thick, electro-galvanizing cost is low.
Oxygen blowing welded pipe: used as a pipe for steelmaking oxygen blowing, generally using small-diameter welded steel pipe, the specification is from 3/8 inches to 2 inches eight. Made with 08, 10, 15, 20 or Q195-Q235 steel strip. In order to prevent corrosion, some are treated with aluminum.
Wire casing: is also ordinary carbon steel welded steel pipe, used in concrete and various structural power distribution projects, commonly used nominal diameter from 13-76mm. The walls of the wire casing are thin, and most of them are coated or galvanized after use, requiring a cold bending test.
Metric welded pipe: the specification is in the form of seamless pipe, the welded steel pipe expressed by the outer diameter * wall thickness millimeter, with ordinary carbon steel, high-quality carbon steel or Puneng low alloy steel tropical, cold strip welding, or with tropical welding and then made by cold drawing method. Metric welded pipes are divided into general energy and thin wall, commonly used as structural parts, such as transmission shafts, or to transport fluids, thin walls are used to produce furniture, lamps, etc., to ensure the strength and bending test of steel pipes.
Idler pipe: used for belt conveyor idler welded steel pipe, generally made of Q215, Q235A, B steel and 20 steel, diameter 63.5-219.0mm. There are certain requirements for the bending degree and end face of the tube to be perpendicular to the center line and ovality, and the water pressure and flattening tests are generally carried out.
Transformer tube: used to manufacture transformer heat pipe and other heat exchangers, made of ordinary carbon steel, requiring flattening, flaring, bending, hydraulic tests. The steel pipe is delivered in a fixed or double ruler, which has certain requirements for the bending degree of the steel pipe. Special-shaped pipe: square pipe, rectangular pipe, cap pipe, empty rubber steel steel door and window steel pipe welded by ordinary carbon junction structural steel and 16Mn and other steel strips, mainly used as agricultural parts, steel window doors, etc.
Welded thin-walled pipe: mainly used to make furniture, toys, lamps, etc. In recent years, thin-walled pipes made of stainless steel strips have been widely used, including high-grade furniture, decoration, fences, etc.
Spiral welded pipe: is the low carbon structural steel or low alloy structural steel strip according to a certain helix angle (called forming angle) rolled into a pipe blank, and then welded up the pipe seam to make, it can use narrower strip steel to produce large diameter steel pipe. Spiral welded pipe is mainly used for oil and natural gas transmission pipelines, and its specifications are indicated by outer diameter * wall thickness. The spiral welded pipe has single-sided welding and double-sided welding, and the welded pipe should ensure that the hydraulic test, tensile strength and cold bending performance of the weld should meet the regulations.

Quality inspection
According to the provisions of GB/T3091-2015 "Welded Steel Pipe for Low Pressure Fluid Transportation" standard, the surface quality of the steel pipe should be smooth, and defects such as folding, cracking, delamination, and lap welding are not allowed. Minor defects such as scooping, scratches, weld misalignment, burns and scarring are allowed on the surface of the steel pipe that do not exceed the negative deviation of the wall thickness. Wall thickness thickening at the weld and the presence of internal seam reinforcement are allowed.
The straight seam pipe should be subjected to mechanical properties test and flattening test and flaring test, and should meet the requirements specified in the standard. The steel pipe should be able to withstand a certain internal pressure, and if necessary, a 2.5Mpa pressure test should be carried out to maintain no leakage for one minute. It is allowed to replace hydrostatic testing with eddy current testing.
Eddy current flaw detection is carried out in accordance with GB/T7735-2004 "Steel pipe eddy current flaw detection test method" standard. The eddy current flaw detection method is to fix the probe on the frame, the flaw detection and the weld to keep a distance of 3~5mm, rely on the rapid movement of the steel pipe to carry out a comprehensive scan of the weld, the flaw detection signal is automatically processed and automatically sorted by the eddy current flaw detector to achieve the purpose of flaw detection. The welded pipe after flaw detection is cut off with a flying saw according to the specified length and rolled off the line through the flipping frame. Both ends of the steel pipe should be chamfered flat, printed markings, and the finished pipe should be bundled and packaged in hexagonal bundles and shipped from the factory.
